This is one of the tea ceremony utensils that my grandmother cherished. I am listing it for sale as I am organizing my belongings. This is a mizusashi (water container) by the Kyoto ware artist Tanyu Hayashi, and it is a work with the prestigious design known as Shonzui Nenkine Yōshu. Based on sometsuke (blue and white porcelain), the round patterns are depicted with aka-e (red painting) and gold accents. The intricate depiction of figures and landscapes is exceptionally beautiful, resulting in an elaborate and elegant finish. It has a strong presence and would surely stand out in a tea ceremony setting. Designs like this Shonzui Nenkine Yōshu are rarely seen in circulation today, making this a highly rare piece. (The box is inscribed with Tanyu Hayashi Mizusashi Shonzui Nenkine Yōshu) It comes with its original wooden box (tomobako) and wrapping cloth. [Condition] While there are some minor scuffs due to age, there are no noticeable scratches or chips, and it is in good condition. *Please understand that this is a long-term stored item and may have minor imperfections. [Size] Diameter: Approx. 19cm Height: Approx. 12cm We highly recommend this piece not only for tea ceremony use but also as a collectible or interior decoration. We hope it will be passed on to someone who will cherish it. As this item is also listed on other sites, it may be sold out depending on the timing. We appreciate your understanding in such cases.
